Full Body Wax: What’s Included and How to Prepare
A full body wax typically covers arms (full), legs (full), underarms, stomach, back, and shoulders. Face and intimate areas (bikini line or Brazilian) are usually listed as add-ons rather than included by default. At Nazuri in Sector 65, Gurugram, a full body wax session runs 75 to 90 minutes and starts at ₹2,800. To prepare: let hair grow to at least 5 mm, exfoliate 48 hours before, and avoid heat and sun exposure on the day of your appointment.
A full body wax is one of those treatments that many people consider but hesitate to book because they’re not sure what’s actually included, how to prepare, or whether the experience will be comfortable. If you’ve ever asked yourself “what exactly does a full body wax cover?” or “how long does it take?”, this guide answers all of it in detail.
At Nazuri Lashes & Beauty Studio in Sector 65, Gurugram, our experienced wax specialists perform full body waxing sessions daily. Here’s everything you need to know before booking yours.
What Is a Full Body Wax?
A full body wax is a single comprehensive session that removes hair from the major areas of the body — typically everything from the shoulders down to the feet — in one appointment. Rather than booking separate sessions for arms, legs, and underarms over multiple visits, a full body wax consolidates the whole body into one 75 to 90 minute session.
This is efficient, consistent (all areas are done in one hair growth cycle so they’re all smooth at the same time), and often more cost-effective than booking areas separately.
What Areas Are Included in a Full Body Wax?
This varies slightly by salon, so always confirm before booking. At Nazuri, a standard full body wax includes:
Area | Coverage |
|---|---|
Full Arms | Shoulder to wrist, including forearms and upper arms |
Full Legs | Thighs, knees, calves, and lower legs |
Underarms | Complete underarm area |
Stomach | Navel line and lower abdomen |
Back | Full back including shoulders and lower back |
Chest (for clients who need it) | Chest and upper body |
Areas that are typically listed as add-ons (not included in the base full body wax):
- Full face (upper lip, chin, jaw, cheeks, forehead) — can be added for an additional charge
- Bikini line — standard or extended bikini
- Brazilian — full intimate area removal
- Feet and toes
At Nazuri, these are available to add to any full body wax session. Let your booking coordinator know when you call so the right amount of time is allocated.
What Wax Does Nazuri Use for Full Body Waxing?
At Nazuri in Sector 65, Gurugram, we use Rica cold wax for most body areas. Rica is an Italian professional wax brand formulated specifically for all skin types, including sensitive skin. Its low-resin formula bonds to the hair shaft rather than the skin, which means:
- Less pulling and stress on the skin
- Cleaner hair removal from the root
- Significantly less post-wax redness and irritation compared to standard hot waxes
- Appropriate for use on all body areas
For clients who prefer, we also offer chocolate wax (anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich — ideal for dry or irritated skin) and fruit wax (enzyme-based, gentle for first-time waxers or sensitive areas).
The wax type can be chosen based on your skin type and personal preference. Your wax specialist will make a recommendation if you’re unsure.
Preparing for Your Full Body Wax: The Complete Checklist
How well you prepare for your full body wax directly affects the results, the comfort during the session, and how long the results last. Follow this checklist in the days leading up to your appointment.
5 to 7 days before:
- Stop shaving. This is critical. Hair needs to be at least 5 mm long for wax to grip effectively. This is approximately the length of an unshaved week’s growth. If hair is shorter, the wax cannot wrap around the shaft properly and results will be patchy and shorter-lasting.
2 to 3 days before:
- Exfoliate the areas to be waxed. Use a gentle body scrub or exfoliating mitt to remove dead skin cells from arms, legs, back, and other areas. Exfoliation clears the surface around each follicle, allowing cleaner hair removal and reducing ingrown hair risk after the wax. Do not exfoliate the day before or the day of — freshly exfoliated skin is more sensitive.
- Hydrate your skin well. Well-moisturised skin holds hair follicles in better condition and makes waxing more comfortable. Dry skin grips wax more than it should and can lead to more discomfort.
The day before:
- Avoid any retinol, AHA, or BHA products on areas to be waxed. These thin the skin’s surface and increase sensitivity.
- Avoid sunburn. Do not wax over sunburned skin — it is too inflamed and vulnerable.
The day of your appointment:
- Do not apply moisturizer, body oil, or any cream to areas to be waxed before you arrive. Oils and moisturisers create a barrier between the wax and the hair, reducing the grip and effectiveness of the treatment.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing. After a full body wax, skin is temporarily sensitised. Tight jeans, synthetic fabrics, and anything that rubs are uncomfortable post-wax. Loose cotton clothing makes the experience significantly more comfortable on the way home.
- Stay hydrated. Well-hydrated skin is more pliable and slightly less pain-sensitive than dehydrated skin.
- Avoid caffeine on the morning of your appointment if you are particularly pain-sensitive. Caffeine can heighten nerve sensitivity slightly.
- Take a warm shower before arriving (not hot — hot water opens pores and increases skin sensitivity). Clean skin waxes better than skin with a day’s worth of sweat, sunscreen, and product buildup.
What to Expect During the Session
Arrival and Setup
At Nazuri, your full body wax appointment begins with a brief conversation about your skin, your wax preferences (wax type, any areas of concern or sensitivity), and any relevant skincare products you’ve used recently. You’ll be shown to a private treatment room and given disposable undergarments if the session includes intimate areas.
The Order of Areas
Full body waxing is typically done in an order designed for efficiency and comfort. At Nazuri, we generally begin with larger areas while the skin is fresh and most tolerant, moving to more sensitive areas as the body’s natural pain response adjusts. A typical order:
- Back and shoulders (often the first area — easy to access, large surface area)
- Full legs
- Full arms
- Underarms
- Stomach and chest
- Face (if included)
- Intimate areas (if included)
During Each Area
For each body area, your wax specialist will:
- Clean and dry the skin
- Apply a pre-wax oil or powder to create a protective barrier between the skin and the wax
- Apply the wax in the direction of hair growth
- Apply a wax strip and remove it quickly against the direction of hair growth, pulling the hair from the root
- Apply immediate pressure to the just-waxed skin with their hand — this instantly calms the nerve endings and significantly reduces the burning sensation
- Check for any remaining hairs and use tweezers to remove stragglers
Rica cold wax does not require strips in all applications — it can be used as a hard wax on sensitive areas, applied in a thick layer and removed without a cloth strip, which is gentler on delicate skin.
Pain Level — Honest Assessment
Pain during waxing is real but manageable. Here’s an honest area-by-area breakdown:
Area | Pain Level | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Lower legs | Low | Fine hair, less dense follicles |
Arms | Low | Quick and usually comfortable |
Back | Low–Moderate | Depends on hair density |
Underarms | Moderate | Skin is thin; stings briefly but fades quickly |
Upper lip | Moderate | Quick — over in seconds |
Bikini line | Moderate–High | Sensitive area; pain reduces significantly after 2–3 regular waxes |
Brazilian | High on first visit | Decreases noticeably with each consistent wax session |
Pain management tips: breathe out slowly as the strip is removed, avoid holding your breath, and tell your specialist if you need a short break. Experienced wax specialists work efficiently, which shortens the discomfort window for each area.
After Your Full Body Wax: Essential Aftercare
The 24 to 48 hours after your wax are when aftercare matters most.
In the first 24 hours:
- Avoid hot showers, baths, saunas, and steam rooms. Heat opens pores; freshly waxed open pores plus heat is a guaranteed route to folliculitis (inflamed hair follicles that look like a rash or small bumps).
- Avoid the gym and any exercise that causes significant sweating. Sweat on freshly waxed skin clogs the temporarily open follicles.
- Avoid direct sun on waxed areas. Skin is more photosensitive immediately post-wax.
- Avoid tight synthetic clothing. Friction on freshly waxed skin causes irritation and bumps.
- Do not apply deodorant immediately after underarm waxing — wait until the next day.
In the first 48 hours:
- Avoid swimming pools and open water. Chlorine and bacteria in water can enter temporarily open follicles.
- Apply a soothing post-wax lotion or aloe vera gel if skin feels warm or tight. Avoid anything heavily fragranced or with alcohol.
From day 3 onwards:
- Begin gentle exfoliation 2 to 3 times per week. This keeps follicle openings clear and significantly reduces ingrown hair risk as the hair begins to regrow. A gentle loofah or exfoliating mitt is sufficient.
- Moisturise daily. Well-hydrated skin produces softer regrowth that is easier to remove in your next session.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. How long does a full body wax take at Nazuri?
A standard full body wax (arms, legs, underarms, stomach, back) takes 75 to 90 minutes. Adding face, bikini, or Brazilian extends the session by 15 to 30 minutes. Block 2 hours for your appointment to be comfortable.
Q2. How long should hair be for a full body wax?
At least 5 mm — approximately 1 to 2 weeks of unshaved growth for most people. If you’re unsure, your specialist will check before starting. Hair that’s too long (more than 1.5 cm) may be trimmed first.
Q3. Can I get a full body wax if I’m on my period?
Yes. However, pain sensitivity is higher during menstruation due to hormonal changes. If possible, booking 5 to 7 days after your period starts — when sensitivity tends to be lowest — is more comfortable.
Q4. How often should I get a full body wax?
Every 4 to 5 weeks for a full body session. Underarms and face may need a touch-up at the 3-week mark. With consistent waxing over time, regrowth becomes finer and slower, and the interval between sessions often stretches naturally.
Q5. Is a full body wax safe during pregnancy?
Consult your gynaecologist first. Many pregnant women continue waxing safely throughout pregnancy, but hormonal changes can increase skin sensitivity. We recommend discussing with your doctor and letting your Nazuri specialist know at the time of booking.
